MultiFocal Lenses

Freedom From Glasses
The London Eye Hospital is the UK's leading centre for multifocal implants with our surgeons having implanted over 10,000 lenses of various designs. Our wealth of experience allows us to identify which implant is most suitable for you. Whether it's reading a book or working on a computer, driving or playing a sport, multifocal implants can give you the freedom from glasses to perform the activities that are most important to you.

CustomMatch Personalized Vision Solutions is a custommatch technique using new multifocal lens technology to improve your vision. The term 'multifocal' means that the lens provides multiple focal points so you can see well at a range of distances, resulting in greater independence from glasses or contact lenses than ever before. Two multifocal lenses can be used according to your lifestyle needs:

The Tecnis Multifocal Lens is designed to reduce spherical aberration, which increases as we age. Reducing this spherical aberration allows light to be better focused, therefore giving you sharper vision. Whether you're having a picnic in the park or a candlelight dinner, the Tecnis Multifocal lens offers excellent vision at close distance.

Rayner Multifocal
This is an exciting new multifocal lens incorporating multi-aspheric aberration neutral surfaces designd to reduce glare and halo. It is also available in a toric version which can correct astigmatism.

Accommodative Implants
Several models are currently available on the market but currently do not give the same degree of freedom from glasses. Please ask your surgeon for further details.
Conductive Keratoplasty
Older techniques such as Conductive Keratoplasty (also known as CK) or Blended vision (also known as monovision) have been surpassed by these newer technologies in our practice but are still available for a minority of suitable patients.
